Eating Out

Can’t face cooking tonight? You can still eat Kitsap food. This listing of cafes and restaurants includes restaurants that passionately support local farmers and food producers.

North Kitsap

MorMor Bistro, Poulsbo
Lunch and Dinner
Chef John Nesby and co-owner Laura Nesby, together with General Manager Dorian Woodson, have created a local food oasis in Poulsbo. Chef Nesby’s dedicated support of the Poulsbo Farmer’s Market have helped to make it one of the best markets of its size in the country.

The bistro turns out reliably fantastic food with a surprisingly affordable price tag. It’s meant to be a place to drop in with the family, an everyday diner. That said, the formal training and talent of this crew also creates memorably elegant special occasion dinners, such as the monthly wine dinners, which elevate local food to haute cuisine while throwing a raucously enjoyable party.

Central Kitsap

Monica’s Waterfront Bakery and Cafe, Silverdale
Lunch
I often run into Monica at local farmer’s markets and see local farmers delivering to the cafe. The chalk board on the wall lists the farms providing the day’s meals, and they’re the farmers and producers who provide my food too. Quiche, sandwiches, soup made fresh daily, meltingly delicious rolls and bread, and a variety of sweet treats. Seating available on the ground floor or in a spacious and cozy room upstairs.

Port Orchard’s fresh food bistro is tucked right into a Bay Street corner. Chef John Strasinger applies a Mediterranean sensibility to fresh ingredients.
